Two of the most impactful thank you notes I have received are from students thanking me for helping them "think" and "feel" like Computer Scientists. As I reflect on such words, I ponder my professional development and experiences shaping my teaching philosophy and style. My recent role as an instructor on Data Structures and Algorithms has had a significant impact due to the course's timing with the first interaction of many students with the tech industry. In this talk, I will share such experiences and the challenges I have faced while teaching core Computer Science and Programming courses. Additionally, I will discuss my interests and goals to continue impactful as an instructor and researcher.
